
Senior quantity surveyor

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of high-rise construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. The role involves ensuring cost efficiency, compliance with contractual obligations, and providing accurate financial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections for high-rise building projects.
Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering exercises to ensure project viability.
Manage tendering processes including BOQ preparation, bid evaluation, and contractor negotiation.
Administer contracts (FIDIC or equivalent) and manage variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
Monitor and control project costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
Carry out monthly valuations, interim payments, and prepare final accounts.
Maintain accurate records of all financial and contractual matters.
Liaise with project stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and clients.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and regulatory standards.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors within the team.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of high-rise building construction processes, materials, and methods.
Proficient in contract administration (FIDIC, JCT, or equivalent).
Advanced skills in cost management, risk assessment, and financial reporting.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in QS-related software (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 7-9 years' professional experience in quantity surveying, with at least 4 years focused on high-rise building projects.
