Web Developer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Web Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing websites and applications with a focus on performance, usability, and design. If you have expertise in building custom WordPress applications and news or article websites, we'd love to hear from you

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, Build customize, and maintain WordPress applications using clean and efficient code.
  • Develop and manage news or article-focused websites, ensuring they are visually appealing, easy to navigate, and optimized for both user engagement and SEO performance. This includes structuring content, designing layouts, and implementing features that enhance the delivery of news or articles to diverse audiences.
  • Create custom WordPress plugins and templates to enhance site functionality.
  • Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and cross-platform compatibility.
  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure mobile responsiveness and accessibility across all developed solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to front-end and back-end development.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Ensure that security and accessibility requirements are followed

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in web development.
  • 2+ years of proven professional experience as a Web Developer.
  • At minimum a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer System Engineering, BSIT Software Engineering or an equivalent major.
  • Proven expertise in building custom WordPress applications.
  • Expert knowledge in WordPress Custom Theme Development is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress plugins, including but not limited to: Advanced Custom Fields, Contact Form 7, Yoast SEO, WooCommerce.
  • Proficient in Core HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, jQuery and Material UI.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
  • Extensive experience in designing and maintaining websites focused on delivering news or articles, catering to various audiences while ensuring technical excellence and engaging user experiences.
  • Familiarity and understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, testing, debugging, and related workarounds
  • Understanding of responsiveness across several platforms and relevant optimization techniques.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of PHP and MySQL for WordPress customization.
  • Experience in web performance optimization and SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with design tools like Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with React is a plus.
