Position Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Type:Contract/Freelance

Expected Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert verbal process descriptions and hand-drawn sketches into PFDs and P&IDs
  • Develop control narratives for refrigeration and water systems including compressor staging, defrost cycles, and safety interlocks
  • Create instrumentation specifications for temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, ammonia leak detectors, and control valves
  • Document safety systems and emergency procedures specific to ammonia refrigeration operations
  • Review and optimize existing process control strategies for energy efficiency and safety compliance

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in refrigeration systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, or Process Engineering
  • Proficiency in P&ID software (AutoCAD, SmartPlant, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration principles and safety standards
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration control systems and instrumentation

Experience

  • Process Engineering: 5+ years
  • P&ID Development: 3+ years
