Job Description – Production ManagerLocation: KarachiCompany: Essa Automotive Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd.Department: ProductionReports to: DirectorRole PurposeTo plan, organize, and control daily production across the Press Shop, Hydraulic Shop, Paint Shop, Spin-On Assembly and Element Assembly. The Production Manager ensures delivery of high-quality parts on time while minimizing downtime, reducing rejections, and driving continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & SchedulingDevelop and execute daily/weekly production plans based on sales orders and priorities.Coordinate production flow between departments:Press → Hydraulic → Paint → Assembly (Element, Spin-on) → Final QC & PackingMonitor WIP levels and adjust schedules to avoid bottlenecks.Ensure timely availability of raw materials and tooling.2. Shop Floor ManagementSupervise supervisors and line leaders across all departments.Monitor machine performance, ensure machines are running at target uptime and speed.Resolve daily production issues (breakdowns, quality issues, manpower gaps).Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment (5S).3. Quality & Process ControlEnsure all departments meet quality standards for oil filters, air filters, and rubber parts.Implement in-process checks for:Pressed partsDrawn cansPowder-coated partsElement assemblySpin-on assemblyWork with QC to reduce rejection rates and improve first-pass yield.4. Coordination With Other DepartmentsWork closely with:Sales → to meet delivery commitmentsTool Room → for die maintenance and changeoversMaintenance → to reduce downtimeInventory → to ensure material availabilityProcurement → for urgent sourcingReport daily production status to the Director.5. Team Leadership & Staff DevelopmentLead a team of supervisors, operators, helpers, and material handlers.Train team members on SOPs, safety, and process improvements.Maintain discipline, manage attendance, and improve workforce productivity.6. KPI ManagementResponsible for meeting weekly and monthly KPIs:Production output vs planMachine downtimeRejection rateOn-time deliveryLabor efficiencyCost per unit improvement7. Continuous ImprovementImplement lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, SMED, Kanban).Improve material flow between departments.Reduce changeover times and improve line balancing.Qualifications EducationBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).DAE Mechanical with strong experience may also be considered.Experience5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing (automotive, filters, rubber, or metal parts preferred).Must have experience managing multiple production departments.Experience with stamping, deep drawing, powder coating, assembly lines, and molding is a strong plus.Key SkillsStrong production planning & schedulingHands-on shop floor problem solvingLeadership and team managementUnderstanding of dies, tooling, and machineryKnowledge of quality systems (ISO, automotive standards)Good communication and reportingAbility to work under pressurePerformance Expectations (First 90 Days)Stabilize production schedule and eliminate daily firefightingReduce rejections by at least 10%Improve on-time delivery to >95%Implement a simple daily production board systemTrain supervisors on consistent reportingJob Type: Full-timePay: From Rs70,000.00 per monthWork Location: In person
