Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate and optimize
    payment gateway APIs
    (USAePay, NMI, , Stripe, etc.)
  • Build backend logic for
    multi-MID routing
    ,
    3D Secure (3DS2)
    , and
    recurring billing
  • Implement
    Apple Pay
    and
    Google Pay
    server-side validation & tokenization
  • Develop and maintain
    RESTful APIs
    for checkout and internal dashboards
  • Create secure
    webhook systems
    for payments, renewals, and chargebacks
  • Design database schemas for
    transactions, routing, and vault data
  • Add
    retry logic
    , logging, and failover handling for reliability
  • Help with other backend systems (licensing, ERP modules, automation scripts)
  • Maintain
    PCI-DSS compliance
    and secure API credential management

Technical Requirements

  • Languages:
    (Express/NestJS) or Python (FastAPI/Django REST)
  • Databases:
    PostgreSQL / SQLite / MySQL (or else)
  • Must Have Experience With:
  • Payment gateways (USAePay, NMI, Stripe, or similar)
  • Multi-merchant (multi-MID) routing
  • Recurring billing & customer vaults
  • 3-D Secure 2 (Payer Authentication or Cardinal)
  • Webhooks and subscription flows
  • Secure API design and encryption best practices
  • Nice to Have:
  • Basic DevOps (Nginx, Docker, CI/CD)
  • Building APIs for automation or AI services
  • Knowledge of high-risk or multi-processor environments
