Junior Underwriter

We are seeking a Junior Underwriter to join our growing underwriting team. The role involves assisting in the evaluation, pricing, and processing of reinsurance treaties and facultative business, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements. This position offers a strong career path into reinsurance underwriting and technical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the underwriting team in analyzing new and renewal reinsurance proposals.
• Collect and review client, broker, and cedant information for risk assessment.
• Assist in preparing quotations, slips, and treaty documentation.
• Maintain underwriting records, data entry, and ensure accurate documentation in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with brokers, cedants, and internal departments (Finance, Claims, Compliance) for policy issuance and endorsements.
• Conduct preliminary risk analyses and prepare exposure summaries.
• Monitor portfolio performance and support the preparation of underwriting reports.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, SECP regulations, and company underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in reinsurance or insurance underwriting. Fresh graduates with strong analytical skills may also be considered.
• Skills:
• Understanding of reinsurance concepts (treaty/facultative).
• Strong analytical and numerical reasoning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
