Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lathe Machinist to carry out precision turning operations on stainless steel components. The role demands hands-on expertise in handling manual lathe machines, interpreting mechanical drawings, and achieving dimensional accuracy as per production needs. Candidates must be self-reliant, disciplined, and capable of working independently in a high-demand workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate manual lathe machines to perform turning, threading, boring, grooving, and other machining operations.

Accurately interpret part drawings, machine sketches, and basic dimensions to prepare workpieces.

Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges to verify tolerances.

Select proper tools, speeds, and feeds based on the material and machining requirement.

Maintain the lathe machine in proper working condition, including lubrication and cleaning.

Minimize material wastage and ensure all machining is carried out as per job specifications.

Follow job orders, daily schedules, and supervisor instructions precisely.

Maintain cleanliness and safety protocols in the workshop.

Coordinate with quality inspectors and supervisors for part approval and troubleshooting.

Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating manual lathe machines in an industrial or mechanical workshop.

Proven experience working with stainless steel, mild steel, or industrial-grade materials.

Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and execute machining operations independently.

Familiarity with standard measurement instruments (vernier, micrometer, thread gauge).

Strong understanding of shop safety and machine handling protocols.

Physically fit and able to work in a factory setting for extended hours.

No formal education required if experience is proven and verifiable.
