Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Department: Engineering / Maintenance / Production

Reports To: Head of Engineering / Plant Manager / Technical Manager

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure smooth operations and optimal efficiency. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, improving system reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in production and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and oversee the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze mechanical failures and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, electrical, and process teams to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate mechanical systems and suggest modifications or upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality procedures.
  • Support energy efficiency and cost-saving initiatives in plant operations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment procurement and repair.
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities and equipment history.
  • Participate in commissioning, testing, and validation of new equipment and projects.
  • Train and support technical staff on mechanical systems and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc/BE/B.Tech).
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, and plant equipment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other mechanical design software.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of safety standards and preventive maintenance systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Project management and documentation skills.
