Medical Biller

Position Overview:

The Medical Biller will be responsible for managing the full billing cycle, from claim creation and submission to payment posting and follow-up. This position requires knowledge of mental health-specific billing processes, insurance claim management, and the ability to work efficiently in Tebra.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims for mental health services via Tebra.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service.
• Accurately post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, re-submit as necessary, and appeal when appropriate.
• Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients regarding billing questions and claim status.
• Maintain accurate billing records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Generate and review monthly billing and accounts receivable reports.

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a mental health setting.
• Proficiency with Tebra (Kareo) required.
• Strong understanding of insurance claim processes, EOBs, CPT codes, and ICD-10 codes for mental health services.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance mental health billing guidelines.
• Experience handling prior authorizations and insurance verifications.
