Role Overview

We are looking for a fresh graduate Backend Developer who can help us bring the product to life. This role does not require full-scale coding. You will use AI-assisted development tools such as Lovable and to build backend workflows, integrations, logic, and data structures that power the platform.

The role involves building features for GCSE and A-Level subjects, connecting APIs, debugging issues, and ensuring the backend operates smoothly. You will work closely with the product team, senior developers, and AI engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build backend logic, workflows, and services using Lovable, , and similar AI-assisted platforms
  • Support the development of GCSE and A-Level modules within the MVP
  • Set up and integrate APIs, endpoints, authentication flows, and third-party services
  • Test and validate backend workflows created in AI-assisted environments
  • Debug issues, identify root causes, and provide fixes under guidance
  • Assist with database setup, data modelling, and record organisation
  • Work with AI models for prompting, content structuring, and internal automations
  • Document workflows, integrations, and backend logic in a structured format
  • Support deployments, environment configuration, and version control

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI-assisted development tools such as Lovable and
  • Understanding of API concepts including endpoints, authentication, and data mapping
  • Knowledge of basic backend principles such as server logic, databases, and integrations
  • Ability to debug workflows and trace issues logically
  • Awareness of AI concepts, prompting, and model interaction
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to evolving tasks

Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript to interpret AI-generated code
  • Knowledge of cloud services such as Supabase or Firebase
  • Experience with Git or version control
  • Exposure to edtech platforms, exam prep systems, or curriculum-based tools
  • Experience working with AI APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic
