Senior Electrician

A Senior Electrician is responsible for overseeing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in various facilities. Here's a breakdown of their key responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities:

• Electrical Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, performing corrective actions to minimize downtime.

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior electricians, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality work.

• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets safety regulations and industry standards, adhering to local and national electrical codes.

• Project Management: Participate in planning and implementing electrical upgrades and improvements, collaborating with other departments and contractors.

Specific Tasks:

• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine electrical system requirements.

• Install and configure electrical systems, components, and equipment, such as circuit breaker panels, switches, and lighting fixtures.

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of electrical systems.

• Respond to emergency electrical situations, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.

• Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including materials used and work completed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent, with a Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in electrical work, with supervisory experience desirable.

• Skills: Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities, proficiency in electrical design software, and excellent communication skills.

• Physical Demands: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches and lifting heavy objects ¹ ² ³.
