Transshipment Executive

Job Summary:

The Transshipment Executive in a shipping context is responsible for managing the transfer of cargo between vessels, ports, or shipping lines. The role ensures smooth coordination of shipments, proper documentation, and compliance with maritime regulations, while minimizing delays and operational risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate transshipment operations at ports, ensuring timely loading/unloading and transfer of cargo between vessels.
• Communicate with shipping lines, port authorities, agents, and internal operations teams regarding shipment schedules and vessel arrivals/departures.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, and customs clearance papers.
• Track cargo movement, monitor transshipment status, and resolve operational issues or delays promptly.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime laws, port regulations, and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, transshipment activities, and vessel operations.
• Collaborate with logistics, warehousing, and transportation teams to optimize cargo flow and minimize demurrage costs.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding shipment status, transshipment schedules, or discrepancies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
• Experience in shipping, port operations, or cargo handling is preferred.
• Familiarity with shipping documentation, vessel operations, and maritime regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of shipping or port management software is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced port or shipping environment.
