Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and assertive Team Lead to oversee the Product & Planning Department for our Canadian lighting e-commerce business ).

This role requires a strong leader with proven experience managing large multidisciplinary teams, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to enforce structure, discipline, and accountability.

Reporting directly to the company's owner, the Team Lead will ensure that all website operations, product management processes, and planning activities run efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate the Product & Planning team (including product data specialists, analysts, and marketing coordinators).
  • Establish clear objectives and performance metrics for all team members.
  • Hold weekly progress meetings and ensure accountability for deadlines and deliverables.
  • Identify performance issues early and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Impose and maintain professional discipline, structured workflows, and operational consistency.
  • Operational Management
  • Oversee daily department operations and ensure alignment with Canadian management goals.
  • Develop and maintain task tracking systems (Google Sheets, , or Asana) for visibility on progress and timelines.
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure all product listings, promotions, and pricing are accurate and executed on time.
  • Performance & Optimization
  • Conduct site performance audits (layout testing, speed, usability, Google PageSpeed Insights).
  • Monitor and analyze website traffic, conversion data, and user behavior via Google Analytics.
  • Execute upsell and cross-sell strategies and evaluate promotional effectiveness.
  • Benchmark pricing and ensure competitive positioning of key product categories.
  • Prepare and present monthly team performance reports to Canadian management.
  • Cross-Department Coordination
  • Work closely with the SEO and marketing teams to improve visibility and sales performance.
  • Collaborate with data and content teams to ensure high-quality product information and accurate categorization.
  • Coordinate with management for priority planning, promotional scheduling, and performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in e-commerce operations, product data management, or digital marketing performance.
  • Proven record of managing large multidisciplinary teams (minimum 8–10 people) across diverse functions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving ability; able to build processes and track team efficiency.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Excel/Google Sheets, and general SEO principles.
  • Strong ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and execute corrective measures with authority.
  • Comfortable working night shifts aligned with Canadian hours.
