Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing team. This role is perfect for detail-oriented professionals who are passionate about delivering flawless user experiences and maintaining the highest quality standards in web application development.

As our QA Engineer, you'll serve as the critical quality gatekeeper between development and production, ensuring every release meets our rigorous standards for functionality, performance, and user experience. You'll leverage your expertise in test automation, API testing, and comprehensive QA methodologies to catch issues before they impact users.

What You'll Do

Quality Assurance & Testing

Design and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios

Create, manage, and maintain detailed test cases and testing documentation

Conduct thorough API testing and validation using industry-standard tools (Postman, Bruno)

Perform systematic regression testing to ensure new features integrate seamlessly without breaking existing functionality

Proactively identify edge cases, potential failure points, and user experience issues that others might overlook

Bug Management & Documentation

Document bugs with exceptional clarity, providing precise reproduction steps, environment details, screenshots, and relevant logs

Track issues through their complete lifecycle in Jira, from discovery to resolution verification

Prioritize bugs effectively, distinguishing critical functionality issues from minor UI/UX refinements

Collaborate closely with development teams to provide actionable, technically detailed feedback

Test Automation

Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites using Playwright

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality validation

Write maintainable, well-documented test scripts that scale with product growth

Technical Investigation & Troubleshooting

Utilize Chrome DevTools expertly to debug issues, inspect network traffic, analyze API calls, and investigate frontend-backend interactions

Set up and manage complex development environments locally using Docker and Docker Compose

Perform deep technical analysis to identify root causes and provide developers with precise, actionable information

Collaboration & Process

• Participate actively in sprint planning, providing accurate QA effort estimates
• Work cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure quality is built in from the start
• Maintain organized, transparent documentation of test accounts, credentials, and environment-specific configurations
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 3-4 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance or testing roles
• Strong proficiency with Jira for comprehensive ticket management, bug tracking, and workflow coordination
• Extensive API testing experience using tools like Postman, Bruno, or equivalent platforms
• Solid understanding of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web application architecture
• Expert-level Chrome DevTools usage for debugging, network analysis, and technical investigation
• Exceptional technical communication skills ability to write crystal clear bug reports that developers can act on immediately
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose for local environment setup and testing
• Highly organized approach to testing with meticulous documentation practices
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation
• Keen attention to detail with proven ability to identify bugs, inconsistencies, and edge cases
• Self-driven and equally productive in remote or on-site settings, with excellent time management and proactive communication
• Sound judgment in prioritizing critical issues versus subjective preferences

Nice to Have

• Experience with Linear project management tool
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD workflows and automated testing pipelines
• Familiarity with Gherkin syntax and behavior-driven development (BDD) practices
• Experience testing , React, or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or database testing concepts
• Understanding of authentication flows, security testing, and common web vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF, etc.)
• GraphQL API testing experience
• Previous experience in Agile/Scrum development environments
• TypeScript knowledge for writing robust, type-safe test scripts
