Job Description:

The Data Solutions Developer will be a collaborative member of the Data Solutions and Data Engineering team who create value by building and maintaining data infrastructure and architecture enabling business professionals to derive meaningful insights. This is a critical resource whose main responsibility is modelling, ingesting, and transforming data from a variety of sources into a high integrity data foundation supporting the needs of JDI's diverse businesses for years to come

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining data pipelines and orchestration workflows in Azure Synapse and Fabric
• ETL development and maintenance for on premise data stores and warehouses
• Integrating and transforming structured and semi-structured data from diverse sources using Spark, PySpark, SQL, and native tools
• Contributing to data lakehouse and warehouse design using delta lake, Synapse, and Fabric Lakehouses
• Debugging and Troubleshooting, Monitoring ETL's and providing On-Call support
• Participating in project planning, estimations, and code reviews as part of a collaborative delivery team
• Environment and platform management for data and analytics platforms

Qualifications

• Education Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related field
• 2+ year experience supporting 2 or more DWH/ETL tools such as Wherescape RED, Data Manager, Data Stage, Spark etc.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse)
• Exposure to CI/CD practices and version control (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
• Controlled goods and security clearance is required for this posting
• 2+ years' experience designing on premise or Cloud Data Warehouses and Data Models
• Knowledge of IBM Cognos Suite of Products is an asset
