About the job:

We are looking for an experienced COBOL/Mainframe Developer to own full-lifecycle development and maintenance of mission-critical mainframe applications. You will work closely with business users, application teams, and other technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust code, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver timely, well-documented solutions in a standards-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver full life-cycle development using COBOL (design, code, unit test, and support).
• Adhere to coding standards and ensure code quality and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production and development issues; provide timely root-cause analysis and fixes.
• Engage with business users to clarify requirements, gather change requests, and validate solutions.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet delivery timelines.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and follow the SDLC processes.
• Collaborate with Release/Operations teams for deployments and support activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager — Application Development.

Requirements:

• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development within a mainframe environment.
• Strong experience with JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex mainframe issues.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and experience producing technical documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills — able to interact with business and technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and self-motivation.
