Science Teahcer

Role Summary

The Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and activity-based science education to primary/middle-grade students from underserved communities. The role requires a hands-on educator who can simplify scientific concepts, encourage curiosity, and help students develop critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning

• Teach Science (Environmental Science / General Science / Physics–Chemistry–Biology basics) .
• Use activity-based learning, experiments, models, and demonstrations to make lessons interactive.
• Design lesson plans that align with the NGO's curriculum and government standards.
• Encourage inquiry-based learning, questioning, and scientific temperament.

Student Assessment & Support

• Conduct periodic assessments to track student progress.
• Identify learning gaps and provide remedial classes where needed.
• Maintain academic records, attendance, and progress reports.

Classroom & Community Engagement

• Create a safe, inclusive, and curiosity-driven classroom environment.
• Organize science clubs, exhibitions, field trips, and project-based activities.
• Engage with parents and the community to promote awareness of science education.
• Support NGO events such as awareness drives, environment campaigns, and child development activities.

Administrative & Team Responsibilities

• Participate in teacher training, capacity-building workshops, and review meetings.
• Coordinate with program staff, field workers, and volunteers as needed.
• Maintain science materials, lab kits (if available), and learning resources.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc) .
• 1–3 years of teaching experience; experience with low-income or underserved communities is an advantage.
• Ability to conduct simple experiments with limited resources.
• Strong communication skills in English and the local language.
• Knowledge of activity-based learning and child-centric pedagogy.
• Basic digital literacy (videos, simple simulations, presentations) is a plus.
