Head of Software Quality Assurance

We are looking for a Head of Software Quality Assurance as part of our Product Team, who are agile, results-driven, customer-focused, and eager to contribute to our product.​
As a Head of Software Quality Assurance you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans. You will work closely with the development and product teams to identify issues, provide feedback, and ensure that the product meets the highest quality standards. The role requires a mix of manual testing, test automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

• Define and own the Quality vision for a modern SaaS stack (web, APIs, microservices, data pipelines, SDKs), aligned to product and business goals.
  
• Build and execute a Quality Roadmap: automation-first strategy, non-functional excellence (performance, reliability, security, accessibility), and continuous improvement.
  
• Establish quality governance: entry/exit criteria, release gates, readiness checklists, and risk-based testing across environments.
  

Delivery & release management

• Own release health: go/no-go, rollback criteria, and post-release validation (feature flags, canary analysis).
  
• Optimize CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab/Jenkins/Azure DevOps): parallelism, caching, and quality gates (static analysis, coverage, contracts, DAST).
  
• Collaborate with Product & Engineer team on quality risk registers, scope trade-offs, and customer-facing communications for incidents.
  

Stakeholder leadership

• Act as the voice of quality to executives and customers; translate quality risks into business terms.
  
• Coordinate with Product, Engineering, SRE, Data, Security, and Customer Success to align priorities and SLAs/SLOs.
  
  

Test Design & Planning:

• Collaborate with the development and product teams to understand requirements, technical specifications, and user stories.
  

• Design, develop, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on requirements and acceptance criteria.
  

• Ensure test coverage for both functional and non-functional aspects of the software, including UI, API, performance, and security testing.
  

Test Execution & Reporting:

• Execute manual tests, documenting and reporting defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from expected results.
  

• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and acceptance testing across multiple platforms and environments.
  

• Track and document test results, ensuring proper follow-up on issues and retesting of resolved defects.
  

Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure that testing aligns with product goals.
  

• Provide regular status updates on test progress, defect tracking, and product readiness.
  

• Participate in sprint planning and reviews to provide feedback on product quality and testing requirements.
  

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure the product meets quality standards through rigorous testing and by following QA best practices.
  

• Advocate for quality within the development team by participating in code reviews and ensuring that testing is a key part of the development lifecycle.
  
  

Requirements
Qualifications:

• 10+ years in software testing across manual and automation, with 5+ years leading QA/SDET teams for SaaS products.
  
• Proven hands-on coding in at least one modern language (TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or Python).
  
• CI/CD with quality gates (GitHub Actions/GitLab/Jenkins/Azure DevOps), artifact/versioning, environment strategy.
  
• Test strategy for microservices & event-driven systems (Kafka/queues), contract testing, and mocking.
  
• Performance testing (JMeter/k6/Gatling) and results analysis; familiarity with caching/CDN impacts.
  
• Test management/ALM (Jira + Xray/Zephyr/TestRail), analytics/metrics dashboards.
  
• Clear track record improving release cadence, reducing escaped defects, and raising automation coverage. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and quality.
  
• Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with MarTech domains: CDP, web/mobile SDKs or working on a SaaS based product.  
  
• Knowledge of API integrations and data analytics tools.
