Job Description:

We are seeing a qualified, independent, and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the Gemini team at our Contour office in Karachi.

Responsibilities:

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process within Microsoft Dynamics GP (GP) accounting software

• Preparation of journal entries for month-end close

• Coordinate and prepare customer invoices and reconcile monthly invoice activity to ensure completeness and accuracy

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensuring they are coded correctly in the General Ledger

• Reconcile the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Subledgers to the General Ledger

• Assistance with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, revenue analysis reports, trial balance variance analysis, commentary, and other related reports

• Assistance with quarter-end and year-end deliverables to other teams including the Corporate team and External Auditors

• Implement process improvements to accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency

• Review customer contracts and assess IFRS 15 impact to ensure appropriate entries are recorded

• Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed

Professional Acumen

• Be proactive in ensuring processes are completed end-to-end and all deliverables are submitted in a timely manner

• Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and proactively identify, review, and implement process improvements

• When not receiving information or support required, proactively take action to resolve the matter and escalate when needed

Educational and Technical Skills

• 3+ years of proven experience in a similar role

• Professional Accounting Designation is required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including advanced use of Excel

• Experience with ERP and proprietary software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP)

• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to manage and prioritize competing deliverables in a fast-paced environment
