The Site Electrical Lead is a key member of the engineering team, responsible for providing leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction for all electrical systems and activities at the manufacturing site. This role ensures seamless operations and maintenance of electrical services while maintaining compliance with safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality protocols, and technical procedures. The Site Electrical Lead plays a vital role in supporting the site's operational efficiency and reliability by overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of electrical projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new installations. Additionally, this role contributes to energy efficiency initiatives and drives continuous improvement to support future growth and sustainability goals.

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor's of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in a similar leadership role within manufacturing or industrial environments.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas, expectations, and feedback across all organizational levels, fostering collaboration and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, empower, and manage teams, promoting accountability and driving operational excellence.

  • Analytical problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and implementing solutions while ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Serve as the electrical subject matter expert and technical authority at the manufacturing site, providing critical expertise to the engineering team.

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of key electrical services, including steam systems, water systems, compressed air systems, and air conditioning systems, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted site operations.

  • Manage and support site-wide major projects, providing technical leadership for electrical elements of project execution.

  • Participate in departmental strategic planning, offering valuable insights regarding existing capacities, requirements, and future projections.

  • Ensure contingency plans are developed and implemented for electrical supplies to production areas, safeguarding business continuity.

  • Lead energy management initiatives, including conservation projects, monitoring site energy consumption, and driving efficiency improvements.

  • Provide input for the preparation of Business Continuity Plans and the Site Facility Master Plan.

  • Optimize the utilization of available resources to maximize outputs and ensure cost-effective operations.

Operational Management:

  • Ensure smooth functioning and proper maintenance of all electrical systems, including high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) systems.

  • Maintain adequate inventory of electrical spare parts to ensure timely repairs and replacements.

  • Guide subordinates to adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely updates of maintenance records, including ATEX-rated equipment and electrical installations.

  • Actively contribute to technology transfer initiatives, supporting automation and innovation efforts.

  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards, providing a safe, secure, healthy, and environmentally suitable workplace.

  • Manage documentation and record-keeping for all electrical maintenance activities, ensuring proper tagging and safety considerations for LV/HV systems.

Compliance and Procedural Implementation:

  • Ensure adherence to global engineering standards, GSK policies, and local regulatory requirements, including GMP, ETCM, TPs, EHS, and GQP policies.

  • Liaise with Group representatives to implement global policies and procedures.

  • Develop and enforce systems, policies, and procedures to ensure safe operations and regulatory compliance.

  • Actively contribute to audit preparations and ensure ongoing compliance of electrical systems with internal and external standards.

People Management & Development:

  • Serve as a role model, embodying GSK's Leadership Essentials behaviors, and exemplifying the values of the engineering team.

  • Utilize performance development plans to enhance team performance and support employee growth.
