Job Summary:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost management, contractual administration, and financial control for construction projects (Housing Society). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and contract negotiation to ensure project efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and evaluation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
  • Conduct cost planning and value engineering to optimize project budgets.
  • Conduct site visits and inspection to ensure work quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare and validate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) to ensure correct reinforcement quantities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve quantity surveying and construction issues.
  • Manage contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions, claims, and variations.
  • Preparation and review of bills of quantities (BOQs) and cost reports.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures to align with budgets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses to mitigate financial risks.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure cost-effective project execution.
  • Review progress payments and certify contractor invoices.
  • Provide advice on procurement strategies and dispute resolution.
  • Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors within the team.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by (H.O.D)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum of

10-15

of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in large-scale construction projects.(Housing Society)
- Strong knowledge of cost control techniques, contract administration, and construction laws.
- Proficiency in industry-related software such as AutoCAD, and MS Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to infrastructure, residential, or commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of local market rates and cost benchmarking practices.
