We are looking for a talented Retail Packaging Designer who can create packaging that not only protects the product but also sells it. The ideal candidate has proven experience designing for retail shelves, understands consumer psychology, and can balance aesthetics with functionality. This role is critical to ensuring our products stand out in-store and online, while also keeping logistics and cost efficiency in mind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Packaging Design: Develop creative, eye-catching designs that encourage customers to pick up the product.
  • Optimization for Retail: Ensure packaging is sized and structured for maximum visibility, shelf impact, and placement efficiency.
  • Logistics & Cost Efficiency: Design packaging that reduces shipping and storage costs without sacrificing quality or aesthetics.
  • Brand Consistency: Maintain brand identity across all packaging while exploring innovative design approaches.
  • Consumer-Centric Approach: Use research, market trends, and competitor analysis to understand what drives customer purchase decisions.
  • Material Selection: Recommend sustainable, durable, and cost-effective materials for production.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align design with business goals.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Create mockups and oversee testing to validate packaging functionality and appeal.
  • Compliance: Ensure all designs meet legal, labeling, and safety requirements in target markets.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in retail packaging design (FMCG, consumer goods, or related).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful retail packaging projects.
  • Proficiency with design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience working with packaging suppliers, printers, and manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of structural packaging design and dielines.
  • Understanding of consumer behavior and retail merchandising.
  • Strong eye for detail, color, and typography.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in packaging design.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with 3D modeling/visualization tools (e.g., KeyShot, Cinema 4D, Blender).
  • Background in logistics or supply chain collaboration.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to use testing or consumer feedback to iterate designs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
