About the role

Gala is excited to announce that we are hiring an Engineering Tech Lead Our mission is to deliver innovative products that empower users in the Web3 ecosystem. We are expanding our team and looking for an Engineering Team Lead to head our DeFi Dapp development efforts, ensuring seamless execution and delivery of high-quality applications.

The Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for leading a full-stack engineering team to develop DeFi Dapps that push the boundaries of web3 and decentralized technologies. This individual will be hands-on, driving technical excellence while ensuring alignment between the engineering team and product management to achieve strategic business objectives. You will take ownership of the entire development process, from planning and design to deployment and scaling.

You will be a part of a company of super-achievers who work together to bring forth the evolution of entertainment. The ideal candidate has prior team leadership or management experience, excellent people skills, business acumen, and an exemplary work ethic. We want someone with experience and passion for web3, cryptocurrency, and NFTs. Important:

• This role requires on-site collaboration at the designated office location, five days a week, subject to project needs and deliverables.
• This role requires significant overlap with US business hours to facilitate collaboration with US teams.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality DeFi Dapps products, ensuring alignment with business and product goals.
• Oversee all phases of development, from concept to implementation, including architecture, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product managers to define product specifications, timelines, and deliverables.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, including code reviews, architecture decisions, and mentoring team members to ensure the adoption of best practices.
• Balance short-term needs with long-term scalability, performance, and security requirements.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the engineering team.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, ensuring the team follows best practices for coding, version control, and documentation.
• Manage team resources, including balancing workloads, identifying skill gaps, and ensuring timely project delivery.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as UX/UI, QA, and DevOps, to optimize the development lifecycle.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the team remains competitive and innovative in the market.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering focusing on DeFi Dapp, mobile app or Web applications.
• Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams to deliver successful products.
• Strong experience with web3 technologies, blockchain ecosystems, and decentralized applications.
• Hands-on expertise with programming languages such as Node.JS, TypeScript, or Python and frameworks like React Native, Flutter, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of mobile-first development practices, third-party integrations, and API usage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead architectural discussions and technical design reviews.
• Experience working with agile development methodologies and tools like Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building and scaling decentralized applications or working in the web3 ecosystem.
• Familiarity with blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and distributed systems.
• Experience with scaling teams and systems in a fast-growing tech environment.
