Job Description:
At Get Licensed, we help people get training, get licensed and find work, and we do this by leveraging technology to make the whole process as efficient and easy as possible. We operate across a number of verticals, and we’re looking to expand those verticals to cater to demand in the UK. Weve helped more than 400,000 people get licensed and find work and are consistently rated 5-star on Trustpilot with over 32,000 reviews.
Get Licensed is a fast-paced technology business at heart (the majority of our team are developers or tech wizards), and we are at an exciting stage of our business, having tripled since 2020. We have ambitious plans to significantly scale our existing business, broaden our product suite, and continue to grow profitably revenue year on year, with a clear roadmap of how we will get there.
Were looking for a Creative Video Editor to own our marketing output – the content that stops the scroll, sells the course and builds the brand. This is fast, punchy work: paid ads, Reels and Shorts, YouTube, campaign films, and everything in between.
This is not a role for someone who executes a brief exactly as written and stops there. We want an editor who is genuinely plugged into what is working on social right now – the formats, the hooks, the pacing, the sound trends, the editing styles cutting through this month and not last year – and who brings that thinking into the edit without being asked.
The one thing we most want to change: we dont want one shoot turned into five versions of the same reel. The same footage should produce genuinely different edits – different structures, different hooks, different formats – because different edits reach different people. If you think in one template, this role is not for you.
A high degree of creative autonomy is expected. Youll be trusted to interpret briefs, make independent creative decisions, and try new editing approaches to deliver work that lands without heavy direction.
What you’ll be doing
- Edit short-form social content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn and Facebook – with a fresh creative approach per asset, not a recycled template.
- Cut multiple genuinely different edits from the same shoot: different structures, hooks, lengths and formats.
- Cut paid ads for Meta, TikTok and Google, including multiple hooks and lengths for A/B testing.
- Edit long-form YouTube content – podcasts, event highlight videos and more – with strong pacing, retention editing and B-roll coverage.
- Produce brand and campaign videos that carry a consistent look and tone.
- Create motion graphics, kinetic text, lower thirds and animated overlays in After Effects.
- Handle sound design and music selection – beat-matched cuts, SFX, clean voiceover mixing, and trend-aware audio choices.
- Repurpose existing footage, podcasts and course material into new social-native assets.
- Deliver the correct aspect ratios and specs for every platform (9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9) without a quality drop.
- Work directly with the marketing and social team, taking briefs, iterating on feedback and turning around revisions quickly.
- Stay on top of platform trends, formats and editing styles, and bring editing ideas to the table rather than waiting for briefs.
- Test new editing approaches – hooks, pacing, transitions, text treatments, sound – and be comfortable when some dont land.
- Maintain organised project files, asset libraries and version control.
What we are looking for
- A portfolio showing marketing, social or ad work. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. We want to see short-form and paid social – and we want to see range, not five edits in the same template.
- Genuine knowledge of what is working on social right now.
- A track record of bringing your own editing ideas forward, and the confidence to pitch, defend and let go of them.
- Strong written English, particularly spelling and grammar. Every piece of content we publish is in English for a UK audience. Youll be writing and checking captions, subtitles, on-screen text and titles – accuracy here is non-negotiable.
- Clear spoken English, enough to discuss ideas and feedback with a UK-based team.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
- Demonstrable understanding of short-form storytelling – hooks, pacing, retention, payoff – and the judgement to break the formula when the idea calls for it.
- Solid colour correction and audio editing skills.
- Comfortable producing multiple variants and versions of the same asset at speed.
- Understanding of platform specs, safe zones and delivery requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine eye for composition and ty
