  • 8 to 10 years of proven experience in Windows and VMware systems administration.
  • Strong experience in managing VMware virtualization environments.
  • Experience in security patching vulnerability management processes.

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, system failures, and user problems related to both Windows and VMware system
  • Escalation points for L1 and L2 Day to day Operational issues, requests and Project tasks Respond and resolve escalated system incidents, problems or outages and accurately report and document solutions Problem determination and resolution within SLAs.
  • Perform the Shift handovers ticket status check and update Incident Escalation and Progress Monitoring Participate in team on-call response 7x24x365.
  • Engaged in team building and participated in the collaborative team's progress.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and security teams, to ensure the seamless integration of Linux systems with overall business processes.
  • Identify training needs and provide opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in Windows and VMware administration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Bachelor's Engineering degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Or post graduate degree in science or computer stream.
  • LINUX Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu Linux administration (Must Have).
  • Deep understanding of Ubuntu server architecture, installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Ubuntu operating systems, services, performance, and system-level issues.
  • Experience managing systemd services, boot process, package management (APT), and repositories.
  • Proficiency in Linux command line and Bash shell scripting.
  • Experience with user and group management, permissions, file systems, storage, and LVM.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, routing, firewall (UFW/iptables), and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with log analysis using tools such as journalctl, syslog, and other Linux logging utilities.
  • System performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity management.
  • Experience with security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and OS patching.
  • Hands-on experience with filesystems (ext4, XFS), LVM,RAID, disk partitioning, and storage troubleshooting. Nice to have ZFS file system.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) for complex Linux infrastructure issues.
  • Good to have knowledge of other flavors of Linux.

Windows and VMware Environment Management:

  • Install, Configure, maintain and troubleshoot WSUS infrastructure, approve and push the patches Perform VM vMotion, Storage vMotion, Add/Remove Memory or any other Hardware resources on the VM Installing or upgrading Vmtools, upgrade hardware version on the VM Taking, Deleting and reverting snapshots of the VM Adding ESX host to maintenance during any scheduled activities.
  • Oversee the deployment, and maintenance of VMware virtualization infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and availability for both Windows and VMware environments to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Manage, maintain & Troubleshoot ESXI, Virtual Center & Other VMware datacenter solutions.
  • Implement and maintain Windows-based systems, including servers, desktops, and virtual machines.
  • Install, configure, maintain ,troubleshoot Windows Operating system on physical servers and in virtualized environments.
  • VMware administrators create and install, manage and configure IT infrastructure solutions, including hardware, servers, and virtual machines, using a VMware environment such as vSphere.
  • VMware administrators are heavily involved in planning the customer's infrastructure. This involves gathering data from the system, finding possible solutions, developing and presenting design ideas, and carefully evaluating the suggestions of others.
  • Actively contribute to a dynamic team of Windows and VMware administrators, fostering an environment of mutual support and cooperation.
