Urgent Vacancy | Counsellor – Qatar Government Hospital.

We are urgently hiring

Qatar is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team. This critical role focuses on providing confidential psychological support to staff and enhancing the overall counseling and volunteer services across the organization.

Position: Counsellor

Experience Required: Minimum 6 years in a healthcare setting

Education: Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Clinical Supervision Framework for counsellors.
  • Provide individual and group counseling support for staff across departments.
  • Act as a mentor to counselling professionals and nursing staff.
  • Deliver training in basic counselling skills and contribute to staff education programs.
  • Collaborate with medical and psychiatric services to ensure best practices.
  • Assess when to refer individuals to specialist counselling or external support agencies.
  • Be a resource and support system for both staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain confidentiality, empathy, and cultural sensitivity in all client interactions.
  • Oversee the recruitment, development, and supervision of volunteers in the service.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Services (essential).
  • Minimum 6 years' counseling experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical supervision, staff mentoring, and volunteer development.
  • Ability to handle emotionally sensitive environments and make autonomous decisions.
  • Culturally sensitive, empathetic, and team-oriented approach to patient and staff care.
