We are seeking a talented Part-Time Web Developer with strong experience in WordPress, Shopify, and backend development to support our growing digital projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean, efficient code, has a deep understanding of web platforms, and communicates clearly and effectively.

Success in this role looks like delivering high-quality, responsive, and functional websites and integrations all while collaborating smoothly with our team and occasionally interacting with clients.

This role is essential to ensuring we provide seamless, high-performance web solutions and great user experiences. You'll work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to bring our digital ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress and Shopify websites.
  • Build and manage custom themes, plugins, and apps as needed.
  • Develop and troubleshoot backend logic using PHP, MySQL, and Shopify's Liquid language.
  • Integrate and consume APIs (REST, GraphQL) and third-party services.
  • Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members through project management tools and meetings.
  • Clearly communicate progress, blockers, and ideas in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in occasional client calls or messaging when technical input is required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with WordPress, Shopify, and custom backend development.
  • Familiarity with Liquid, MySQL, and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time role.
  • Preferred: Experience with TypeScript, SASS/SCSS, API integrations, or Page Builders (Elementor, WPBakery, etc.).
