AKUH has a network of 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ medical centres, and over 290+ clinical laboratories, with 30+ pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan. Outpatient medical centres offer a range of specialty clinics including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Physiotherapy, catering to children, adults, and elderly patients for general health checks or specific disease consultations.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  1. Dispense drugs in the inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory pharmacies.
  2. Review and process physician orders for accurate therapeutic doses.
  3. Monitor lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug-drug interactions, duplication of the same class, etc.
  4. Ensure timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients.
  5. Ensure the accuracy of the label before dispensing.
  6. Complete expiry of drug list on an accurate and timely basis.
  7. Assist in patient counseling for outpatient prescriptions and maintenance of cash.
  8. Prepare sterile injections, bulk compounding, and monitor the chemo critical list.
  9. Manage inventory and expiry of the product.
Requirements

You should have:

  1. A Doctorate/Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
  2. Traineeship experience in Retail Pharmacy/medium/large hospital or preferably one year of experience in a similar capacity.
  3. Familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning.
  4. Sound knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical sciences.
  5. Familiarity with locally available drugs, pharmaceuticals, and their indications.
  6. Ability to communicate with medical professionals.
  7. Willingness to work in shift duties.
