Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  3. Work with outside data sources and APIs.
  4. Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability.
  5. Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  6. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  7. Perform upgrades and maintenance, modify existing software to improve performance, correct errors, and adapt to new hardware.
  8. Recommend software upgrades for clients' programs and systems if necessary, and analyze software requirements and user needs to determine system feasibility within time and budget constraints.
  9. Collaborate with engineers, programmers, systems analysts, and others to create optimal software based on project capabilities and limitations.
  10. Design, develop, and modify software systems, using mathematical models and scientific analysis.
  11. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data to understand system capabilities and requirements.
  12. Manage software testing, validation, documentation, and programming to ensure proper functioning.
  13. Manage the work of technologists, programmers, technicians, and provide instruction on writing software code as needed.
  14. Coordinate software installation and monitor equipment to ensure specifications are met.

Managing core features of the app include services, network, database, etc.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a reputable university.
  • 2-3 years of Android App Development or Mobile App Developer experience.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them technically.
  • Strong knowledge of Google's Android design principles and guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of emerging mobile technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Previous programming experience with Android development tools and paradigms (Android Studio, Gradle, UI Layout, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and understanding of Android SDKs and open source libraries.
  • Experience creating clients for REST APIs and understanding modern connected application architectures.
  • Ability to resolve issues in backend and embedded contexts, focusing on robustness and performance.
  • Experience supporting application design and integrating production assets.
  • Familiarity with development tools (Git, Jira, etc.) and methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
