Job Description:

Purpose of the Position:

This role is responsible for the operational and tactical oversight and monitoring of university-wide activities to ensure compliance with established policies and regulations.

Qualification & Experience:

  • MPhil degree in social sciences and related fields.
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in a public organization is required. At least 12 years of experience in government relations, public administration, preferably in a university or government training institution.
  • 10-12 years of teaching experience in a public or private academic institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Oversight:
    • Oversee the implementation of policies across the university to ensure compliance with requisite regulations.
    • Develop monitoring systems to report and track university activities in line with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
    • Provide recommendations to senior leadership on improving processes to facilitate smoother functions at NUST.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to compliance frameworks by collaborating with internal departments and align their activities with NUST policies.

Knowledge/Skills/Certifications:

  • Proficiency in developing and managing systems to monitor institutional processes, ensuring adherence to internal and external policies.
  • Strong understanding of government processes, funding mechanisms, and public policy.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in reports & proposals.

  • 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
  • NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
  • In process of pursuing a required degree.
  • Medically unfit.
