Role

As a Copy Editor at Octus, you are responsible for covering editing needs for our technical, legal, and market-based stories. You will provide support to editorial operations and staff writers as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit technical, transactional, legal, and market-based stories for a growing subscriber base of sophisticated professionals.
  • Ensure real-time news coverage respects house style and remains at the forefront of the financial news agenda.
  • Assist editors in directing editorial flow and prioritizing stories, and work on long-term special projects.
  • Write breaking news stories based on company announcements and third-party content.
  • Monitor domestic and foreign press for any key developments.
  • Help manage a calendar of companies, updating it as news happens.
  • Manage and monitor internal databases and contribute to project management processes.
  • Contribute to ongoing project databases.
  • Maintain ongoing connections with company investor relations and private equity firms.

Requirements:

  • High numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Time management.
  • Written English and communication skills.
  • News writing.
