Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their leadership team. As the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our logistics digital start-up, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will play a critical role in driving our business strategy, coordinating between technology partners, customers, and transport companies, and building a high-performance operations team. Your leadership will help shape the future of our company, as you will be instrumental in creating business plans and projections to attract potential investors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop, implement, and manage the operational strategy of the company to achieve business goals.
Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to create and execute long-term business plans, ensuring that strategic goals are met.
Prepare detailed business plans and financial projections for potential investors and stakeholders, showcasing the company's growth potential and market opportunities. - Operations Management:
Lead and manage the daily operations of the logistics platform, ensuring smooth execution of all logistics processes and technology integrations.
Oversee all aspects of the digital platform's operational functionality, ensuring that customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Establish performance benchmarks, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. - Team Development:
Build and manage a high-performing operations team, including operations managers, customer service teams, and logistics coordinators.
Develop a collaborative culture that aligns with the company's vision, promoting innovation, accountability, and customer-centric solutions.
Train, mentor, and support team members to foster professional development and increase productivity. - Coordination and Collaboration:
Serve as the key liaison between technology partners, transport companies, and customers, ensuring seamless coordination across all channels.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, transport providers, and technology vendors, to ensure that all partnerships deliver value to the business.
Collaborate with the product and technology teams to ensure the logistics platform remains agile, scalable, and adaptable to evolving market needs. - Investor Relations and Business Growth:
Present operational strategies and performance updates to the board of directors and potential investors, providing clear insights into operational metrics and company growth prospects.
Participate in investor pitches, meetings, and negotiations, articulating the company's operational strengths and scalability.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships that will drive the company's growth and market presence. - Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements within the logistics and transportation industry.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks and ensure business continuity.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (MBA preferred). - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, with at least 1-2 years in a senior leadership role, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or technology-driven industries.
Proven track record of developing and implementing business strategies and operational frameworks in a start-up or fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated experience in preparing business plans, financial projections, and investor presentations. - Skills:
Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams.
In-depth understanding of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management, with a strong focus on digital and technology-driven solutions.
Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience working with investors, partners, and customers.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
