Overview

The Lead Accountant will oversee the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with international standards. This role requires strong leadership, financial expertise, and prior experience in the BPO sector to support global operations effectively.

Responsibilities

Financial Leadership:

  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
  • Oversee tax filings, statutory compliance, and audit processes.

Strategic Finance Support:

  • Provide financial insights to senior management for decision-making.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting exercises.
  • Recommend strategies for cost optimization and revenue growth.

Team & Process Management:

  • Mentor and guide junior accountants to ensure high-quality output.
  • Establish and improve accounting policies, controls, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with BPO clients and ensure adherence to international accounting practices.
Qualifications
  • ACA (with 5+ years' relevant experience in BPO) OR FCA (10+ years' relevant experience in BPO).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and corporate taxation.
  • Experience managing teams and leading audits.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Other Details
  • Onsite role in Karachi.
  • Working hours: 9 am to 5 pm (Pakistan Standard Time), Sunday to Friday.
  • Employees will be required to attend the office physically from Monday to Friday, while Sunday will be a designated work-from-home day. In addition, one extra hybrid day per week may be availed, subject to prior alignment with the direct manager.
  • Reports directly to the CFO / Senior Finance Leader.
Experience
  • Lead Accountant : 5 years (Required)
  • BPO : 5 years (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and corporate taxation: 3 years (Required)
