Overview

We are hiring a Cost & Inventory Controller for a leading manufacturing client in Karachi. This strategic role is essential for managing and optimizing cost structures, ensuring accurate inventory and cost reporting, and supporting financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of cost drivers, ERP data integrity, and collaboration across departments to deliver impactful financial insights and controls.

Education, Experience & Skills
  • Must be CA or ACCA Qualified
  • Minimum 5 years PQE
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing industry environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Cost Management & Analysis

  • Monitor actual vs. budgeted costs across all departments, identify variances, and justify deviations.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis for materials, labor, and overheads.
  • Evaluate cost drivers, highlight inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  • Design and implement cost control dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Develop pricing models, forecasts, and strategic cost reports for decision-making.
  • Ensure accuracy in standard costing systems (BOM, BOR, Routings).
  • Conduct CVP (Cost-Volume-Profit) analysis for pricing and margin planning.
  • Assist in annual budget and cost forecasting processes.

Collaboration & Operational Efficiency

  • Work closely with operations and procurement on sourcing, pricing, and vendor evaluation.
  • Analyze cost implications of make-or-buy decisions and process improvements.
  • Participate in initiatives to streamline production and logistics costs.

Inventory Management

  • Define optimal inventory levels based on forecast, lead time, and safety stock.
  • Oversee inventory systems to ensure accurate data and control.
  • Conduct audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor turnover rates and apply techniques like ABC analysis and JIT for optimization.

ERP Data & System Integrity

  • Maintain cost-related master data in ERP (components, routings, suppliers, etc.).
  • Align ERP cost functions with real-world operations.
  • Support automation of cost monitoring and reporting tools.

Governance, Compliance & Audit Support

  • Enforce internal controls, SOPs, and corporate cost policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities related to cost and inventory.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain compliance.
