Overview

Software Architect - Backend role at dubizzle. is an iconic product and tech brand committed to making life convenient for users across the globe in property, motor, jobs or other classifieds. We are part of the Dubizzle Group that owns & OLX Pakistan. With our continued success and expansion, we are growing our Technology Team in Pakistan with a vision to make Karachi one of our leading Global Tech hubs.

Responsibilities
  • Gather an up-to-date and in-depth understanding of the dubizzle code base technologies and industry trends
  • Provide and share a broad knowledge of technologies and architectures and mentor within the scope of your product stream and with the rest of the Packs
  • Collaborate with other Leads and Seniors to ensure we always deliver software of the highest standards
  • Promote companywide coding standards, guidelines and best practices
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and mentorship by setting challenging but realistic goals and guiding the team toward successful project delivery
  • Impact the direction and scope of dubizzle's technical vision within your stream
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, Design, UX, CLM and Strategy to deliver the highest quality products
  • Hire A-players to build high-performing teams, constantly raising the bar of engineering talent
  • Own our business KPIs as a conduit to the Product team and business functions
  • Be accountable for the technical direction while ensuring that daily decisions align with our vision and direction
  • Coach individuals in the team to become the next wave of technical leaders
Requirements
  • 9+ years of software engineering experience
  • Deep understanding of open source technologies like Python, Ruby, PHP, or Java
  • Deep understanding of open-source web application frameworks (e.g., Django, Laravel, Ruby on Rails)
  • Source code control, build process management, CI/CD, automated testing and related development processes
  • Knowledge of creating and architecting systems that are highly scalable and available
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities
  • Experience working on high-traffic and large-scale web products is a plus
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, XP)
  • Understanding of good product, design and UX principles
  • Experience in analysis, design, coding and implementation of next-generation web applications
