Azure Architect Administrator

Overview

Azure Architect / Administrator for ERP hosting on Microsoft Azure. Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud hosting environments as we transition our software from on-premises to cloud. This role involves migrating existing client deployments to Azure and designing scalable, secure, and cost-optimized hosting for new customers.

The Division

Data-Basics Inc. provides end-to-end integration software solutions for field service and construction management. SAMPro Enterprise is a leading ERP system offering contractors a complete package for service management needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture & Design: design Azure cloud infrastructure for multi-tenant and single-tenant ERP deployments; create reference architectures; define network architecture (VNets, subnets, VPNs, firewalls); develop disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Migration & Deployment: lead migrations from on-premises to Azure; plan and execute proofs-of-concept, pilot migrations, and production cutovers; standardize deployment pipelines with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform; automate provisioning of infrastructure and hosting environments.
• Administration & Operations: manage and monitor Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking, security groups, databases); implement monitoring, alerting, and logging; apply security best practices (IAM, MFA, conditional access); optimize performance and cost; provide ongoing technical support.
• Governance & Compliance: establish governance policies for resource usage and cost; define backup, retention, and recovery procedures.
• Collaboration & Leadership: work with product teams to align hosting architecture with application needs; train internal teams; support sales in cloud hosting discussions; act as Azure SME.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years IT infrastructure experience; 3+ years in Microsoft Azure architecture/administration.
• Proven experience migrating legacy applications to Azure; strong Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL Server background.
• Experience supporting SaaS or hosted application environments.
• Technical skills: Azure VMs, App Services, Storage, Virtual Networks, Azure AD, Key Vault, Backup, Monitor, Security Center; scripting/automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM, Terraform); strong networking and security.
• Certifications (preferred): Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.

• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple client projects; problem-solver who designs pragmatic, cost-effective solutions.
• Self-starter who can work independently.
