Summary: The Officer Goods Receiving position is a vital role within our FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) Warehouse. This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of goods, ensuring the seamless flow of products through our supply chain. Success in this position is marked by precise inventory management, timely goods handling, and effective communication with various stakeholders. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our warehouse operations.

Responsibilities:

Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, inspect goods for quality and quantity, and ensure compliance with delivery documentation. Identify and report any discrepancies or damages promptly.

Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate record of received goods, update inventory systems, and reconcile discrepancies with the inventory team. Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and other inventory management best practices.

Organization and Storage: Efficiently allocate storage space for received goods, optimizing warehouse layout to maximize space utilization. Ensure safe and organized storage, considering the fragility and shelf-life of products.

Documentation and Reporting: Prepare receiving reports, record goods received, and maintain a comprehensive database of received items. Generate regular reports for management to track inventory status.

Quality Control: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that received goods meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Identify and isolate non-compliant products as necessary.

Communication: Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate inbound shipments. Provide feedback to suppliers and resolve any delivery issues promptly.

Health and Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during goods receiving operations. Ensure the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable.

Process Improvement: Continuously assess goods receiving processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications are a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in goods receiving, warehousing, or logistics, preferably in the FMCG industry.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inspection and recording of goods received.

Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to manage storage space effectively and maintain inventory records.

Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to interact with suppliers, team members, and management effectively.

Technology Proficiency: Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office Suite.

Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to warehouse operations.

Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Team Player: Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
