About AuratTech

AuratTech is a nonprofit organization providing free, community-centered digital and tech skills training to girls and young women (ages 16–25) in underserved areas. Our mission is to create a safer, empowering space for girls to explore technology, build professional skills, and access remote economic opportunities.

We believe in a holistic, human-centered approach to education that combines tech training, creativity, and community engagement.

Position Overview

We are looking for a creative, strategic, and community-drivenMedia and Communications Managerto lead the storytelling, visibility, and public image of AuratTech. You will oversee internal and external communications, manage our digital platforms, and create content that amplifies the voices of our students, staff, and impact.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate aboutdigital equity, gender justice, and using media to create change.

Key ResponsibilitiesContent Creation & Storytelling
  • Develop engaging content (photos, videos, stories, quotes) from AuratTech programs.
  • Lead the creation of student and alumni stories, success profiles, and community voices.
  • Design visually appealing content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and newsletters.
  • Maintain a content calendar that aligns with our programs and fundraising goals.
Media Strategy & Outreach
  • Build and execute a communications strategy to grow our visibility and audience.
  • Manage press outreach, media partnerships, and local storytelling opportunities.
  • Draft press releases, impact reports, donor communications, and website content.
Digital Platform Management
  • Oversee website updates and social media platforms.
  • Track engagement metrics and refine digital strategy accordingly.
  • Respond to audience inquiries and manage online community engagement.
Internal Communications & Team Culture
  • Support internal communications, newsletters, and team-wide updates.
  • Assist in documenting trainings, events, and internal milestones.
  • Work with the CEO to shape a clear, consistent voice for the organization.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, media studies, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in communications, nonprofit media, or digital storytelling.
  • Strong writing and visual storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in Canva, basic video editing, and social media tools.
  • Experience working with community-based programs or gender justice initiatives is a plus.
  • A creative eye, initiative, and strong alignment with AuratTech's mission.
