Social Media Coordinator

Reports to – Senior Social Media Strategist

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly creative and trend-savvy Social Media Coordinator to join our marketing team. This role is focused on video content creation, where you will be responsible for editing short-form videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok, staying ahead of social media trends, meme culture, and viral content, and collaborating with our Senior Social Media Strategist to bring concepts to life.

This is not an influencer or UGC role—you will not receive product shipments. Instead, you will be expected to create original video content using trending memes, sounds, and concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Edit and create highly engaging, meme-driven short-form videos for TikTok and Instagram Reels using CapCut (or similar tools).
  2. Produce original video content based on trending memes, viral formats, and creative direction from our Senior Social Media Strategist.
  3. Format videos for optimal social media performance (vertical layout, captions, sound effects, text overlays, trending audio, etc.).
  4. Stay up to date with TikTok & Instagram trends, ensuring our content is always relevant and shareable.
  5. Identify trending sounds, hashtags, and content styles that can be adapted for our brand.
  6. Ensure that videos align with our brand voice and marketing strategy.

Social Media Trends & Engagement

  1. Actively monitor social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to stay ahead of trends and viral content.
  2. Work closely with the Senior Social Media Strategist to conceptualise and execute new video ideas.
  3. Provide input on content ideas, engagement strategies, and meme-based marketing tactics.

Content Scheduling & Organization

  1. Schedule and manage social media content in Sprout Social or similar scheduling tools.
  2. Organise content calendars and track performance metrics using Google Sheets/Smart Sheets.

Skills & Qualifications

  1. Strong experience in video editing for social media, particularly using CapCut (or similar tools).
  2. Deep understanding of TikTok & Instagram trends, meme culture, and viral content.
  3. Ability to independently create engaging video content based on trending memes and creative direction.
  4. Proficiency in Google Sheets, Smart Sheets, or similar software for content tracking.
  5. Strong creative instincts with an ability to identify trends before they peak.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must provide 3-5 examples of short-form videos they have created. These do not need to be professionally shot—iPhone-style videos edited in CapCut are completely fine or examples of meme content that you have edited.
