We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and experienced Manager of Pharmacy to oversee and enhance the day-to-day operations within our pharmacy services. This role will be pivotal in managing medication management systems, ensuring the standards of quality, and the revenue streams and with new initiative initiatives to the services. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of clinical expertise, operational acumen, and technology savvy, with a strong emphasis on communication, negotiation, change management and mentoring skills.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- overseeing and optimizing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service delivery
- ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, best practices, and organizational policies
- ensuring, implementing, and monitoring of quality assurance initiatives for medication management processes
- providing clinical guidance and support to pharmacy staff to ensure safe and effective medication use across various clinical settings
- identifying and addressing medication-related issues, implementing solutions for improved patient outcomes
- leading or supporting new business initiatives related to pharmacy services, including the integration of new technologies and service models
- collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for expanding service offerings and improving operational efficiency
- managing the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of medication management technologies (e.g. electronic health records EHR)
- ensuring the pharmacy team is well-versed in utilizing technology to enhance safety, accuracy, and efficiency in medication delivery
- actively mentoring and supporting pharmacy team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration
- providing leadership and guidance in daily operations, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational goals
- assisting in the recruitment, training, and development of pharmacy staff
- serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on pharmacy-related issues, demonstrating excellent communication and negotiation skills
- leading discussions with other partners to negotiate formulary management and its compliance and manage pharmacy-related resources effectively
You should have:
- PharmD/Bachelor in Pharmacy; a relevant Master Degree in Pharmacy or advanced training in allied discipline will be given preference.
- MBA in health management will be considered an advantage
- registered with pharmacy council Pakistan
- minimum of 6-8 years of progressive professional and supervisory experience in a medium to large hospital including 3 years in a managerial capacity a tertiary care academic institution
- written and verbal communication skills
- ability to conceive 'out of the box' solutions medication management related issues
- automation of various aspects of medication management as a change agent
- good interpersonal skills to build and guide teams within multidisciplinary environs
- knowledge of pharmacy management and drug distribution system in a tertiary care hospital setting
- flexibility, competency, ability and willingness to provide staff supervision at variable work hours and shifts
- sound knowledge about healthcare informatics and ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Power point)
