Job Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Manager Packing to oversee and optimize the packing operations in our FMCG snack manufacturing facility. This role involves ensuring efficient packing processes, maintaining quality standards, and coordinating with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will focus on improving packing efficiency, reducing wastage, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Packing Operations Management: Supervise daily packing activities, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Process Optimization: Implement strategies to improve packing speed, accuracy, and material utilization.
  • Team Supervision: Lead and train packing staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs and production schedules.
  • Machine Coordination: Ensure proper functioning of packing machinery, coordinate with maintenance for preventive upkeep and troubleshooting.
  • Quality Control: Ensure packed products meet company standards in terms of weight, sealing, labeling, and packaging integrity.
  • Inventory & Material Management: Monitor packing materials, minimize wastage, and coordinate with supply chain teams for timely replenishment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to workplace safety, hygiene, and food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a packing or production role within FMCG, preferably in snack manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience in operating and troubleshooting packing machines (VFFS, flow wrap, and automated systems).
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Strong coordination with cross-functional teams.
    • Hands-on role in the manufacturing unit, working closely with production and maintenance teams.
