What You'll Do

The Lead Data Scientist is an experienced data scientist responsible for working with the Region Solution Leads, Services sales teams, Teradata Account Teams, and Product Management to support pre-sales and solutions activities.

This role includes conceptualizing use case solutions and supporting pre-sales initiatives, requiring strong technical and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of business use cases, Teradata technology including ClearScape Analytics and applications, Teradata services, and partner solutions.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Support account teams and prospective customers in analyzing and understanding requirements through extensive data exploration and analysis.
• Lead discussions and conceptualization of assigned solutions.
• Develop ready-to-engage and ready-to-sell collateral.
• Utilize analytical tools and deep learning frameworks to deliver solutions.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for potential solutions and analytics.
• Create solution showcases and support high-end customer pitches.
• Support pre-sales initiatives by positioning solutions and building estimates.
• Mentor and guide pre-sales opportunities based on customer needs.
• Conduct assessment and proof-of-concept activities to support pre-sales teams.

Who You'll Work With

The successful candidate will work from any Teradata GSIH facility or virtually in India, Pakistan, or Prague, with 20-30% travel expected.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, AI, Engineering, Computer Science, or Statistics.
• Preferably a Master's or Doctorate in a relevant field.

Technical Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years' experience in data-driven fields (e.g., BI, DWH, Analytics).
• Experience in data analysis is a plus.
• Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Java).
• Experience with SQL.
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts; in-depth understanding is a plus.
• Knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, AI, and deep learning.
• Business domain experience in fields like Telco, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, etc.
• Ability to analyze customer technology and define business requirements.
• Strong requirement elicitation and analysis skills.
• Cloud computing experience (Azure, AWS, Google) is a plus.
• Experience with Teradata platform is a plus.
• Experience as a technical lead in pre-sales and delivery activities is a plus.
