Responsible to manage Finance cluster, deliver all key initiatives including Projects and application enhancements that has key influence on bank's topmost management decision making process, regulator reporting (which can influence financial/non-financial penalties), reputational issues and operational losses.
This role holder is also responsible for performing Business Engagement to help achieve business aspiration & needs. He/she will be responsible managing existing systems daily, Monthly, Quarterly, and annual regulatory system processing
Key result Areas
- Responsible to Plan, execute and manage all Technology deliverables to business.
- Manage internal/External Audits of the unit and ensure a satisfactory rating is achieved.
- Support unit head in annual financial planning (CAPEX/OPEX) for the unit
- Keep track of annual maintenance contracts and ensure timely renewal.
- Manage a diversified team of professionals both onshore & offshore who are responsible for changes to 10+ business intelligence applications such as Oracle Financial Service analytical applications such as Fund Transfer pricing, Asset & Liability Management, Financial consolidation & Balance sheet reporting system, Customer Profitability Reporting system (Key business performance measurement tool) and regulatory reporting (UAE Central Bank, Qatar Central Bank, Bahrain Central bank, Kuwait & Egypt Central Bank reporting).
- Manages per annum over 10+ projects (valued AED 10M+), 100+ URFs (valued AED 1M+), which imposes direct impact on banks very critical systems such as Central Bank reporting, Balance Sheet & Financial Consolidation of the bank, and customer probability reporting systems.
- Staff Development: Lead initiatives to upskill and mentor team members, fostering professional growth and aligning individual capabilities with organizational goals.
- Process Adherence: Ensure strict compliance with established processes and frameworks, driving consistency, quality, and efficiency across all deliverables.
- Annually expectation is to manage 4,000+ man days of effort towards enhancement & customization through URFS (300+) & Projects (10).
- Implement lean recommended practices effectively.
Leadership & Management
- Responsible for managing the unit (consists of onshore & offshore) and develop team effectively.
- Responsible for delivering projects within the agreed time & budget with minimal risk to the bank.
- The position will directly or indirectly be responsible to ensure all change initiatives have approval from Technology Ops, security, audit, risk, architecture, human resources including engagement, budget financial & tracking, capacity planning, project delivery, vendor management & outsourcing related to the team.
- Resource optimization (both onshore and offshore), employee retention, backups and engagement planning
- Focus on regulatory, control & audit requirements and managing all known risks related to team and systems that can impact security of data, system downtime, incidents etc.
- Oracle Financial Services Analytical Application (OFSAA) hosts critical bank applications such as FTP, ALM, PFT & LLFP
- Central Bank Reporting (critical regulatory reporting)
- Financial consolidation which forms banks' balance sheet.
- Customer Profitability reporting for all the regions (UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, and all FI entities).

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 15+ Years of Total Experience in the domain of Finance Technology having strong banking background.
- In-depth knowledge of digital technologies and their application in the finance domain which includes financial consolidation, performance management, balance sheet preparation, and regulatory reporting within a complex organization, including managing reporting for multiple countries.
- Extensive experience in leading and managing a team, with a strong track record of achieving results.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle a significant budget and ensure financial prudence.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including senior management, technical teams, and business users.
- Project Management: Experience in managing finance technology projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
- Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards in the banking industry.
- Techno-functional Expertise: Ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technology solutions. Experience in working with complex financial systems like Oracle Financial Analytical Applications (FTP, ALM, PFT, LLFP, etc.) and Microsoft Dot.net Technology-based platforms (Finance Web Portal, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Microsoft Reporting Services).
- Data Modeling and Analysis: Solid foundation in data modeling techniques, enabling efficient and effective data analysis and reporting. Also proficiency in writing and optimizing PL/SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
- ETL Tools: Experience with Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) tools like Informatica or similar, to manage data integration
- Core Banking System: Exposure to core banking system i.e. FlexCube, T24, Trading, Treasury systems, Credit/Debit Cards systems will be advantage
- Digital Technologies: Exposure to new digital technologies like Python, Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, Spark, and ELT/ETL (Extract, Load, Transform) methodologies, which can enhance data processing capabilities and support advanced analytics.
