As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking's Marketing Automation Platform function, you will lead multiple technical areas, manage activities across departments, and collaborate across domains. Your expertise will drive the adoption of technical methods, help the firm stay at the forefront of industry trends, and develop scalable, secure technology solutions that support automated marketing processes. You will lead a team of engineers to integrate platforms with existing systems, enhance data analytics, and improve user experience for marketing teams.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the software engineering strategy, focusing on AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align AI initiatives with business goals.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions, staying updated on emerging AI trends.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, ensuring best practices.
  • Build and inspire a high-performing engineering team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and oversee AI project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage project risks and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Collaborate with product management, data science, and other departments on project requirements.
  • Present technical updates to stakeholders and represent the company at industry events.
  • Promote the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in Java and 10+ years of applied experience; 5+ years leading technical teams.
  • Experience in software engineering with a focus on AI, with hands-on skills in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Proven leadership in managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
  • Experience influencing complex organizations and delivering value at scale.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git.
  • Experience organizing developer events and workshops.
