Fiber Optic Technician

As a Fiber Optic Technician at FIVI Communication Pvt Ltd, you will be on the front lines of delivering high-speed internet services to residential and commercial clients. Your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic connections, ensuring reliable and high-quality service for our customers. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Install and Configure Fiber Optic Connections:

Accurately install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables for residential and commercial customers while ensuring minimal disruption and high-quality results.

Perform Routine Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Identify, isolate, and resolve fiber-related faults and service issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal downtime for users.

Conduct Site Surveys and Prepare Installations:

Visit client locations to assess technical requirements and prepare installation plans that align with company standards and safety protocols.

Ensure Equipment and Tool Management:

Safely transport, handle, and maintain all technical tools and devices. Ensure no equipment is left behind at customer premises.

Document Work and Report Daily Activity:

Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service tasks, and report updates through company communication channels or CRM tools.

Follow Company Protocols and Technical Guidelines:

Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines. Apply directions from supervisors or team leads without deviation.

Provide Customer Education and Support:

Clearly explain device placement, basic troubleshooting, and service features to customers at the time of installation or repair.

Collaborate with Field and Backend Teams:

Communicate effectively with team members to ensure successful coordination of field activities and customer support tasks.

Practice Punctuality and Professionalism:

Report to duty on time, wear company uniform where applicable, and maintain a respectful and courteous demeanor with all clients and colleagues.

Commit to Continuous Improvement:

Actively seek opportunities to improve skills through training sessions, feedback, and learning from peers or supervisors.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge of Fiber Optic Systems:

Basic understanding of fiber optic technology, including FTTH (Fiber to the Home), splicing, PON, OLT, ONU, and related hardware.

Experience in Field Installations or Technical Work (Preferred):

6 months to 1 year of relevant experience is preferred, but fresh candidates with strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn will also be considered.

Education:

Matriculation or above (DAE – Electrical/Electronics/Telecom preferred, but not mandatory).

Problem-Solving Abilities:

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure and resolve customer issues efficiently.

Communication Skills:

Good verbal communication skills in Urdu (basic English is a plus) to interact with customers and teammates effectively.

Responsibility and Work Ethics:

Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of following instructions and safety protocols.

Team Collaboration:

Willing to work in coordination with field and backend teams.

Adaptability:

Capable of working in different environments (indoor/outdoor) and handling multiple tasks.

Willingness to Travel Locally:

Should be open to traveling within city limits for daily installation or maintenance tasks.

Basic Knowledge of Tools and Equipment:

Familiarity with splicing machines, OTDR, and hand tools is a plus.
