About the role:

The position shall be responsible for managing Data Center (Electrical & Mechanical Infrastructure) Design & planning related tasks in coordination with network implementation and operations teams. The role also involves significant stakeholders' management and design control

Your Impactful Goals will include:
  • Business case preparations as per the requirement of site design department.
  • Leading RFQ process for Electrical, Mechanical and other related passive infrastructure for critical projects.
  • Planning, development and managing design related matters of different design consultants and vendors
  • To provide smart designs of Critical Infrastructure / equipment expansions/upgradations, and other new initiatives.
  • To draft specifications for any new Hybrid infrastructure and also maintain/propagate the existing ones followed by Department.
  • Verification of designs and work packages submitted by vendor for quantity assessment and quality solutions.
  • Working with cross-functional teams for civil related RFQs
  • Development of new ideas from an operational efficiency perspective.
  • Preparation of technical proposal and evaluation documents for the purchase of new solutions.
  • Data Center visit/audit to identify improvement areas.
  • Responsible for the preparation of budget and capitalization forecast.
Your Typical Day will look like:
  • Resolve and propose solutions to the problems related with critical facilities infrastructure (Switchgear, Generator, Transformer, UPS, CRAC, CRAH, Rectifiers, Energy Storage, Fire Detection & Suppression).
  • Business case preparations for the projects pertaining to site design.
  • Liaise with the business planning team for business case approvals.
  • Effective communication with customers at both senior, managerial and technical levels and resolving infra-related problems
  • Analyzing and evaluating the technical solutions provided by vendors.
  • Leading the RFQ process for planned projects and liaising with the sourcing team.
  • Track of budget utilization, PR/PO initiation and closing, equipment Ordering.
  • Verification of invoices and capitalization.
  • Providing the solutions for implementation and rectification works in Network
  • Verification of Work Packages submitted by different vendors for Design and BOQ verification.
  • To maintain track sheet for efficient delivery of work packages to implementation team.
  • Ensuring escalations if required with designers and vendors for maintaining quality standards set by the department
  • Reporting to line on daily & weekly basis for progress of the projects and issues at sites or with stake holders.
  • Managing team & stakeholders' meetings for scope clearance and progress monitoring of the projects.

What we're looking for:

Education:B.E/BS/MS Electrical

Work experience:At least 03-05 years working experience on Data Centre Electrical & Mechanical Infrastructure Design/Operation.

Functional Skills/Knowledge Areas:
  • MS Office (Must have excellent knowledge of Excel and Power Point)
  • Microsoft Visio
  • AutoCAD
  • CDCP/CDCS (Preferred)
  • Must be familiar with Tia-942, Uptime, ASHRAE TC 9.9 & ISO/IEC 30134 standards / guidelines for Data Centres.
  • Must have a good exposure of Design along with BOQ preparations and verification.
  • Implementation/ execution experience will be considered as plus point.
  • Well versed with design of modern critical facilities passive infrastructure.
  • Very strong knowledge of Electrical & Safety codes and standards.
