We have an amazing team of talented engineers and we're looking to add a Back End Software Engineer to our onsite team in Lahore, Pakistan. As a Back End Software Engineer, you play an important role in making sure we maintain the quality and reliability of our growing products. We are a product-led, fast deploying company and you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of web applications and software systems. Your primary focus will be on the implementation of efficient and scalable server-side logic, database integration, and data storage solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including front end developers, designers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing efficient, scalable, and maintainable server-side applications and systems.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including front end developers, designers, and project managers, to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Building and optimizing backend infrastructure, including APIs, databases, and server architecture, to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
• Writing clean, readable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices and industry standards.
• Implementing security measures and data protection to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to junior team members to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams to deploy and manage applications in production environments.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and recommending their adoption when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1.5 plus years of professional experience as a Back End Software Engineer, with a strong focus on server-side development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Javascript and Node.js.
• In-depth knowledge of backend technologies and frameworks, such as Express.js.
• Experience with database systems like PostgreSQL, including data modeling and optimization.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior developers.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) at our Gulberg (Lahore) or Islamabad (Bahria Town) office with occasional nightly team syncs with US/Mexico time zones.
