Sr. Infra Cloud Automation Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Systems Engineer plans, implements, and oversees Fanatics' infrastructure, corporate systems, and identity management. Supports on-premises storage and compute services for both in-house and externally facing systems. The main objective is to build and maintain high-availability infrastructure to support the online and internal IT activities of our users.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide expertise and assist customers, developers, and partners with design decisions.
2. Provide ongoing maintenance and implementation of updates and patches.
3. Recommend and implement standards, policies, and procedures to achieve service levels by tuning, maintaining, and supporting infrastructure.
4. Offer design recommendations regarding the integration and architecture of commercial application packages.
5. Develop and plan lifecycle replacement, coordinate outages, and perform performance tuning for applications and hardware.
6. Maintain monitoring and data gathering systems for reporting and performance analysis.
7. Establish and maintain vendor relationships to address and resolve issues.
8. Work closely with business stakeholders and developers to ensure smooth planning, implementation, and system cutovers.
9. Maintain the systems roadmap for lifecycle, improvements, upgrades, and capacity planning.
10. Participate in all technical aspects of server technology, virtualization, storage, replication, and security projects, including planning.
11. Provide technical support, operations, and problem resolution for systems infrastructure, including 24x7 on-call support.
12. Support and plan for business continuity and disaster recovery.
13. Prepare and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
14. Maintain a good understanding of system trends and the group's mission to provide cost-effective and efficient systems.
15. Manage identity and access, including the implementation and maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory.

Azure and AWS Cloud Technologies:

1. Design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions to support business operations.
2. Ensure security, availability, and performance of cloud services.
3. Collaborate on migrating existing applications and infrastructure to cloud platforms.
4. Utilize Infrastructure as Code to promote automation where appropriate.
5. Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and costs.
6. Stay updated with latest cloud technologies and best practices.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• 7+ years of experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing priorities effectively.
• Experience in peer mentoring and serving as a subject matter expert on multiple technologies.
• Proven leadership in project management and technical direction across multiple groups.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including recovering from failures and performance issues.
• Deep understanding of business-critical systems and their interactions.
• Knowledge of configuration and management of Microsoft OS, Linux OS, VMware, SANs, and hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, Windows Server configurations, Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP, and development tools like PowerShell, .NET, and scripting languages.
• Experience with network and systems management tools, documentation, and effective communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and professional office experience.
