Job Responsibilities

As a senior team member, you will own critical components that execute hundreds of thousands of provisioning actions daily in a dynamic, reusable manner. Your role involves managing resource states, supporting complex upgrade patterns, and ensuring no breaking changes or resource destruction during updates. You will be responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, CI/CD, and operational support.

The service maintains and upgrades Kubernetes cluster nodes to higher versions without impacting customer workloads. Your architectural decisions will influence the entire Fusion Apps organization, its customers, and tens of thousands of clusters and OCI resources.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Candidates should have extensive experience building, delivering, and operating cloud-native, highly available, distributed, and secure systems across multiple regions.

Team Environment

The team is primarily remote, spread across the US, India, and Europe. Effective asynchronous communication, high-quality documentation, observability, and operational practices are essential. We foster a strong sense of ownership and expect senior members to be on the critical path.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify and analyze performance bottlenecks to ensure system efficiency and stability.
  2. Design, implement, and execute performance tests, providing recommendations for optimization.
  3. Collaborate across teams throughout the development lifecycle, embedding performance best practices.
  4. Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging tools and technologies to enhance system performance and scalability.
  5. Experience with performance automation tools is advantageous.
  6. Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or Golang is required.
  7. Experience with production workloads on Kubernetes and container-based deployment.
  8. Knowledge of cloud services like OCI, AWS, GCP, Azure.
  9. Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
  10. Experience in Kubernetes management and administration.
  11. Strong ownership, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  12. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  13. Expertise in cloud-native architecture patterns.
  14. Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies.
  15. Basic understanding of networking, load balancing, and intra-cluster communication.
  16. Knowledge of security best practices in development and commitment to quality code.
  17. Experience designing and consuming APIs.
  18. Familiarity with Unix-based environments.
  19. Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
