A leading US-based web solutions company is hiring a senior-level Android Architect with deep expertise in Kotlin and/or Java for its Karachi office.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and architect high-performance Android applications using modern development practices.
  2. Define and enforce clean architecture principles (MVVM, Clean Architecture, Jetpack Compose, etc.).
  3. Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
  4. Optimize performance, memory usage, and responsiveness across a range of Android devices.
  5. Lead and mentor the Android team, conducting code reviews and technical evaluations.
  6. Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
  7. Ensure compliance with security standards, privacy guidelines, and Google Play policies.
  8. Stay up to date with Android trends and drive innovation across projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. 8+ years of Android development experience, with at least 3 years in an architect or lead engineer role.
  2. Expertise in Kotlin and/or Java with solid experience in Android SDK and Jetpack libraries.
  3. Strong grasp of coroutines, multithreading, and asynchronous programming.
  4. Familiarity with Jetpack Compose, LiveData, Room, Navigation, and related components.
  5. Experience in integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party SDKs.
  6. Proficient with Android Studio, debugging/profiling tools, and Git.
  7. Experience with unit testing, Espresso, and other testing frameworks.
  8. Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams with clear sprint planning and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with fintech, stock market, or other real-time data-driven applications.
  2. Familiarity with Firebase, AWS, or other cloud-based services.
  3. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitrise, Jenkins, Fastlane).
  4. Knowledge of cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native is a plus.
  5. Exposure to containerization and DevOps workflows.
